Chris is a versatile composer, bassist, and educator whose work spans classical and popular music with equal ease. Originally from Carmel, NY, Chris studied composition at The Juilliard School under Grammy- and Pulitzer-winning composer Christopher Rouse. His compositions have been featured by Cirque du Soleil, the New York Philharmonic, and on networks like VICELAND, showcasing his talent for blending classical rigor with creative flair.
As an experienced performer, Chris has shared stages with artists like Jon Batiste and Robby Krieger and opened for icons such as the Allman Brothers and Esperanza Spalding. His work, described by the New York Times as “deployed with sure instincts and dramatic flair,” reflects his unique style and versatility.
In teaching, Chris is dedicated to equipping students with the musicianship, expressive skills, and industry knowledge they need to thrive. Former Dean of California College of Music and author of Chordcraft, he empowers aspiring artists to succeed across today’s diverse musical landscape
